These half-day workshops are an opportunity to have a taste of Sandplay therapy and learn more about working with symbols. Sandplay can access unconscious patterns and beliefs that hold you back from growth and movement towards wholeness. Your experienced facilitator will support you to access  these patterns beneath the surface of your mind. A full Sandplay process will be demonstrated. For this we will call for a volunteer. This could be you, or not if you don’t feel ready. This exploration will be held within a safe group container.

Sandplay is not talk therapy. It is not an intellectual exercise. It relies more on the sensations in your body than the thoughts in your head. It is faster and more effective than talk therapy and can get to the root cause of stubborn issues in your life.

Sandplay can assist with:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • Panic attacks
  • Healing trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Health issues
  • Relationships & family issues
  • Nightmares
  • Burnout
  • Behaviour management
  • Post natal depression
  • Bullying
  • Vanishing twin
  • All forms of abuse
  • Addictions
  • Decision making
  • Connecting to Self and Soul.

Sandplay will allow you to learn more about yourself, shift entrenched inner patterning and come closer to your comfortable centre. The benefits can improve relationships in your life, give you new ways to respond to challenges and leave you with a sense of awe about the interconnection of all of life.

What is sandplay?

The dynamic sandplay that we offer has its origins in Jungian psychology. It uses small pieces and figures available from shelves around the room that provide symbols from the unconscious. After putting your hands in the sand you allow the pieces to ‘choose you’ and then place them in the sand tray one at a time to build a picture of your unconscious. A facilitator then supports you to explore and discover the message carried in the tray. Our teachers called this Active Sandplay.

In the words of our teachers:

“Sandplay is a journey in which both the facilitator and the client walk together” and “it can sometimes reveal something so buried that the client has forgotten the original event”.
– Marg Garven

“Sandplay is one of the most penetrating ways to clear deep blocks, be they personal or spiritual. In the sand the psyche states it as it is. Our truth, lying in the unconscious, speaks to us most clearly. The pieces we find and the way we place them in a tray of sand are symbolic of our lives and beliefs.”
– John James

The process offers clarity about why you do the things you do and can shift entrenched inner patterning and beliefs to restore connection with your true self which is centred, joyful and whole.
