Yoga and meditation practices bring relaxation and mindfulness to events, conferences, your workplace, education or community space

Yoga from the Inside

iRest meditation

I use the word meditation to refer to the practice that results in the outcome of mindfulness. Essentially, mindfulness is greater awareness. By tapping into our own innate peace, we can relax deeply, release stress, increase resiliency and improve interpersonal relationships.

Class requirements
Simply a relatively quiet space, somewhere that people can get comfortable. This can be seated or lying down.

Yoga

The practice of hatha yoga offers many benefits: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Stretching the body in all directions not only releases tension but stimulates all its energy centres and vital systems. A regular practice can strengthen the body and tone the nervous system.

Class requirements
A space that can be cleared to facilitate the practices. Yoga mats can be provided for small groups.

Events and conferences

We’ve presented experiences such as these below to groups of various sizes at events and conferences. We can craft a tailored experience for your specific group. All these are of 1 hour duration.

Deep relaxation meditation

Using iRest® meditation to de-stress and calm the nerves. We start with a few minutes of discussion regarding the principles of the practice; then a short interview discerns how we best help the participants to relax, which will be woven into the practice. A 35-minute meditation practice, seated or lying down (which can be shortened if necessary) is followed by 10 minutes to “come back online”.

This practice is profoundly relaxing.

Suitable for:

  • Weddings
  • Conferences

Chakras and Chocolates Meditation

This iRest meditation commences with a mindfulness practice, engaging all the senses while eating (just one!) chocolate. Then we take a long, relaxing meditation journeying through the energy centres (chakras) in the body.

Suitable for:

  • Hen’s night
  • Girl’s weekend
  • Other small groups (who love chocolate)

Chill Yoga

In this gentle and relaxing hatha yoga class, we use breath, stretches and deep relaxation to return to peace.

Suitable for:

  • Small to larger groups

Yin Yoga

This series of long-hold floor postures provides physical release, stimulates the energy system (meridians) and is also a powerful mindfulness practice. We adapt postures to suit the age, mobility and general health of participants.

Suitable for:

  • Smaller groups (up to 10)

Gentle Yoga and Mindfulness

A half-and-half blend of gentle yoga and a deep relaxation, iRest meditation.

Suitable for:

  • Small to larger groups

In the workplace

These practices are designed specifically to bring relaxation and respite to people working in high-stress environments.

The Chill Zone

A Chill Zone needs little or no equipment; just a cleared space in the workplace that is relatively quiet and free from interruptions. We set up this drop-in zone for a block of time, with various staff drop-in times comprised of any combination of the following:

  • 15 minute – Breathe
Breathe to music to lengthen the exhalation, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and triggering relaxation.
  • 15 minute – Well being
A seated, standing or lying down mindfulness practice designed to tap into our inherent wholeness of being, to know that everything is okay.

with:

  • 45 minute – Chill Yoga
A gentle and relaxing hatha yoga class using breath, stretches and deep relaxation to return to peace.
  • 45 minute – Dynamic Yoga
A more dynamic hatha yoga class to release tension through movement.
  • 45 minute – iRest Yoga Nidra
A longer version of ‘Well being’ above, is a meditation and self-enquiry practice to tap into the innate peace within. iRest provides tools to relax deeply, release stress, increase resiliency, improve interpersonal relationships and develop greater mastery and control in one’s life.
